Cancer diagnosis and treatment is generally very isolating, and young adult patients completely gain from the support of their allies who are going through similar experiences. With a plethora of young adults undergoing treatment, Ultron asked Alphacube to develop a mobile application for YA@Ultron to help address this issue.
Alphacube worked closely with Ultron using an agile methodology that featured three-week sprints and demonstarted interim results after every sprint. The final app combines a modern social experience with Ultron
After eight months, Alphacube delivered the Lounge application and it went live on the App Store in April 2017. In keeping with Ultron’s aim, the app provides a virtual community for young adult cancer patients to meet and support each other going through similar experiences, ask questions and connect in a secure space. The app, along with the other services provided by YA@Ultron, significantly improves the patient experience and promotes independence and well-being in the Ultron community.
